La Torrecilla is a small curved beach sheltered by two headlands close to the western edge of the town. Its proximity to Nerja and the Riu Hotel Monica mean it’s very popular with tourists however its size does limit the facilities immediately available to visitors. Behind the beach is a promenade that runs its full length, followed by apartment buildings. There is no immediate parking other than that which is available in the nearby streets of the town. There is a café directly behind the beach however more selection is available with a short walk to Plaza Fabrica de los Cangrejos where you’ll find numerous options. The beach is covered by lifeguards and regularly cleaned.
Since 2006 La Torrecilla has been awarded with the Q for Quality award which it still currently holds as well as being distinguished by the EU as a Blue Flag beach.
How to get there
La Torrecilla is located close to the town center and is therefore easily accessible by foot. Starting from the bus terminal, go in the direction of the roundabout by the bus kiosk. From here take the first right into Calle San Miguel. Go past the Guardia Civil barracks on your left and the taxi rank on your right. Continue until you get to a turning on your left with a paint shop adjacent and a small island in the middle of the road. Turn left here into Calle Castilla Perez. Follow this road downhill until you reach a convergence of this road and another. The square opposite is Plaza Fabrica de los Congrejos. From this square if you look right you can see La Torrecilla.
