El Playazo
Description
This is a long and wide open beach with great views along the coast to the neighboring town of Torrox. Located on the western fringe of Nerja this is a distinctly less developed beach compared to some of the others in the area and is generally less popular with foreign tourists. Directly behind the beach is a well established dirt road followed by farmland. This beach is not overlooked by multistory buildings. There are some bars and Chiringuitos however the selection is limited. There is excellent access for vehicles and ample parking is freely available. The beach is covered by lifeguards and regularly cleaned.
How to get there
There are a number of ways to get to El Playazo however the easiest is to start at the bus terminal and go west towards the neighboring town of Torrox along the N340. Cross the bridge over the river and you’ll come to a roundabout. Go straight across and follow the road. You should pass a Repsol petrol station on the right. From here continue on this road for approximately half a kilometer until you reach a large turning on your left. This turning will lead you to the Hotel Marinas de Nerja. Immediately after taking this turning you will come to a T junction, go left and follow the road as it turns to the right. This road will take you straight to El Playazo. At the end of this road turn left taking you through a small stream and onto a well established dirt track. This is a good place to find parking.
