El Chucho
Description
This is a small beach on the western side of Nerja sandwiched between the beaches La Torrecilla and El Playazo. It’s a straight beach, well maintained and popular with tourists due to its proximity to the Hotel Perla Marina which stands immediately behind it. There is no access to vehicles so it’s quiet and there is a short promenade behind. There is only one Café / snack bar that overlooks the beach but more options are available with a short walk. There is no immediate parking other than that which is available in the nearby streets of the town and that available along the neighboring beach El Playazo. The beach is covered by lifeguards and regularly cleaned.
How to get there
It’s possible to access this beach in various ways but the quickest involve following the instructions to get to La Torrecilla and following the promenade behind this beach until you get to the western headland which directly overlooks El Chucho. From here there are steps down to the beach. Alternatively you can follow the instruction the reach El Playazo. El Chucho and El Playazo are only separated by the mouth of the river Chillar so you need only drive to the eastern end of El Playazo and cross the river.
