Pablo Milanés  3 Cultures Festival 2019

The Cuban singer-songwriter Pablo Milanés will be the headliner of the Frigiliana 3 Culturas festival, which will celebrate its fourteenth edition from August 22 to 25 and is based on the coexistence between Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures.

The festival has confirmed in a statement that Milanés will close on August 25, at 10 pm, the programming of concerts this year, of which nine shows had already been announced, including those of Toledo’s Ana Alcaide, the Tuareg guitarist Bombino or the tour of the roots of flamenco Felah Menkub.

The performance of the Cuban, which will take place in the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, is part of his Esencia tour, which began in mid-2018 and which is accompanied by Ivonne Téllez at the piano and Caridad R. Varona at the cello.

The Frigiliana 3 Culturas festival recreates the atmosphere and customs of Al-Andalus society through conferences, concerts, cinema and workshops related to Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures.

This municipality of Malaga, with about 3,000 inhabitants, sets its Moorish-Mudejar neighborhood, popularly known as Barribarto, as one of the coexistence between cultures, which constitutes one of the purest architectural structures that are preserved from the Muslim occupation of the Iberian Peninsula.

The Town Hall of Frigiliana has proposed this edition a festival “as ecological as possible” and for this the use of plastic will be reduced.

The Cuban singer-songwriter arrives at the Axarquía with the “Esencia” tour that began in mid-2018

The Cuban singer-songwriter Pablo Milanés will be head of the Frigiliana 3 Cultures Festival.
August 22 to 25. He will perform on Sunday 25 at 22 hours in the Plaza de Las 3 Culturas within its “Esencia” tour that began in mid-2018.

Pablo Milanés, one of the main exponents of the author song in Spanish. In this tour, he is accompanied by Ivonne Téllez , at the piano and Caridad R. Varona , at the cello, Pablo takes up essential themes in his work, classics always claimed by his audience – To live, You see, Yolanda, If she will it ever be missing or The Brief Space in which it is not – in conjunction with more recent ones that reveal the constant ability to create this artist in more than five decades of career.

Pablo’s musical versatility, together with the influence of the tradition of Cuban and American popular music, has made him an artist capable of expressing himself in diverse genres: the bolero, jazz, rumba, son, and his trova. With his essential status as a singer, he continues to sing love as a primordial feeling and issues of social content, issues always present in his texts and that Paul will present in a more intimate, but no less surprising, format.
