Man dies after falling through a waterfall in Nerja

The body has been rescued by Emergencies in the sea; the deceased, a 55-year-old male, carried material for canyoning

A man of 55 years has died this Sunday 14-07-2019 when he was descending through the waterfall of Maro , in the Malaga municipality of Nerja, according to the system 112 Emergencies Andalusia, a service attached to the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior of the Board.

The event took place at around 13.40 . The 112 has received a call alerting that there was a person who had drowned when descending the waterfall of Maro, next to an old barracks. According to the alertant’s information, the victim was in the sea and was carrying canyoning material.

Until the place of the event has been identified by troops of the Civil Guard , which in turn reported what happened to the GEA and the Ereim; the health services and the Local Police. Thus, the troops have rescued the body.
