Frigiliana se suma al rosa (raise awareness about breast cancer)
‘Súmate al rosa’ is the motto of the campaign to raise awareness about breast cancer that takes place throughout the month of October and, especially, on the 19th that is the World Day of the fight against breast cancer . Frigiliana joins this awareness and throughout October products can be purchased to make a contribution to the fight against this type of cancer. In the City Hall, in the María Isabel hairdresser (c / Rosarico la Joaquín, 18) and in the pharmacy of Frigiliana Las Cañas (Plaza del Ingenio, 3), stands are installed until the end of the month to collaborate. All proceeds will be donated to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC).
The municipal buildings and other points of Frigiliana will wear pink ties throughout October to make visible and support this cause. The Department of Health and Commerce thank the people and visitors for the good acceptance that this initiative is having, as well as the group of friends “We lend a hand” for its enormous involvement helping the AECC.
According to data from the AECC, breast cancer is the most common tumor in western women. In Spain, about 33,307 new breast cancers are diagnosed each year. It should be remembered that although it is less frequent, men can also suffer it.
