Frigiliana gets the declaration as Tourist Municipality of Andalusia
Frigiliana has passed all administrative procedures for its next declaration as Tourist Municipality of Andalusia.
Before the end of the year the Government Council of the Junta de Andalucía formalizes the distinction and adds Frigiliana (together with Antequera, Níjar in Almería, La Iruela in Jaén, Isla Cristina in Huelva and Aznalcázar in Seville) to the 18 municipalities who already have this cataloging.
This Thursday morning, the valuation commission has been held that has raised the proposal for a final report for said cataloging, which was attended by representatives of the departments with competence in Tourism, Local Administration, Economics, Finance, Innovation, Equality , Social Policies, Employment, Commerce, Education and Sports, Culture, Interior, Rural Development and Environment. The commission has granted, unanimously to all attendees, the declaration of tourist municipality of Frigiliana.
After months of hard work by the local Administration, the councilor for tourism Carmen Cerezo is very happy for this statement that “it is very good news for our people” and thanks “to all the workers who have made this complex file possible “
The declaration of the Tourist Municipality of Andalusia implies a recognition of our town as an outstanding destination and that carries an important weight due to the volume of visitors at certain times of the year. It gives rise to collaboration agreements and other agreements with the Junta de Andalucía to compensate for the increase in demand in the provision of municipal services. All this has an impact on maintaining and improving the quality of Frigiliana as a tourist destination.
