January Parade of the Three Kings
The Parade Three Kings (Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos) a Christmas tradition held on the 5th and 6th of January, two days that put an end to the Christmas celebrations.
On the 5th the Magi (the Three Kings) will wonder through the streets of Frigiliana on horseback.
Frigiliana’s parade usually starts at 4.30 in the Plaza de la Iglesia and ends at the Salon de Usos Multiples, where children are given gifts. During the parade the kings throw sweets to children in the crowd, who are usually seen hurriedly trying to fill up carrier bags with them.
February-March: Carnival
This celebration marked by the beginning of Lent.
It is a recent celebration, which originally had no tradition in Frigiliana, beyond the local businesses. However, for some years, the celebration of the carnival in our streets has become a much loved tradition.
End of April? Day of the Cane HoneyJanuary
The first edition of this culinary festival was held in 2014 with great public success. That year, for the first time, the doors of Ingenio were opened to the public, the only cane honey factory in Europe.
Everything revolves around the Plaza del Ingenio, a stage hosts performances of the most diverse nature during the entire festive day, beginning in the morning and ending in the afternoon. Rocío choirs, flamenco dance, popular dances, liven up the square until dusk, when the closing is done.
Throughout the day attendees have the opportunity to taste for free a wide range of recipes made with honey as the main ingredient, recipes that the housewives of the village make in the square during the course of the party.
13th June: San Antonio
To honour its Patron Saint, Saint San Antonio, is celebrated on June 13 of each year to the roar of rockets.
Activities and contests last for five days.
The start of each fair takes place every year with the gala, “choose the queen of the festival” Activities, concerts and events will take place during throughout the day and night.
January 20: San Sebastián
A religious celebration on January 20 to honour the patron saint. A procession takes place at the end, during which the neighbours and (Sebastians) pay tribute to the images of San Sebastián and San Antón with colorful fireworks along the entire route.
Easter
Holy Week in Frigiliana opens with its celebrations and processions on the Friday before the week of passion, death and resurrection itself (the Friday of Dolores) Brothers adorned with black tunic and hood. This brotherhood, whose foundation dates back to August 14, 1771, made its first processional step in the Holy Week the year after. The procession accompanying the image of Our Mother and Lady of Dolores.
Holy Week in Frigiliana is on Holy Thursday and Good Friday, in addition to Easter Sunday, although undoubtedly the most typical and characteristic parade is Soledad, which takes place on the stroke of midnight on Friday of Dolores. The mourning of the sisters who accompany the Virgin through the streets of the old town is only illuminated by the golden tones of the candles, leaving all the neighborhood in a deep darkness and silence only broken by the sound of the Marian songs .

Last weekend of August: 3 Cultures Festival
The Three Cultures Festival of Frigiliana was created in 2006. The local government wanted to promote the village as a quality tourist destination and created the annual event combining culture, music, cuisine and theatre in a celebration of the historic and rare co-existence of Christian, Jewish and Muslim traditions. see more
